The controversial end to Saturday’s Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys game has led to a lot of questions.
Did Taylor Decker actually report in as an eligible receiver to referee Brad Allen, following the correct procedure for a player who is usually ineligible since he’s usually an offensive lineman? Was it Allen who screwed up here by naming the wrong lineman as eligible?
One angle tells some of the tale, even though it’s led to MORE confusion: It’s the camera view from above the field, showing Decker and another Lions player walking over to talk to Allen … and No. 70 Dan Skipper is jogging in from the sidelines. Yet it was Skipper who was declared eligible, not Decker, and therefore it was Decker catching the two-point conversion that was illegal.
Check it out:
I’m a Dallas Cowboys fan thankful to win but what was Decker chatting with the ref about if he wasn’t reporting lol #DetroitLions #DallasCowboys pic.twitter.com/IoV0ObmjcX

NFL is really going to let Brad Allen go unpunished? He’s flat out lying. Dude never talked to Dan Skipper and nods right at Decker. Then announces 70 as eligible. The pure negligence is bad but to double down and lie? Good lord. Suspend and fine his ass pic.twitter.com/XlaS2adb8c

Autopilot from Brad Allen. I can’t get over this. Look at Decker the whole clip. pic.twitter.com/Sm7Sur0FAA
