There were 13 more Covid-19 fatalities and 1,129 new patients admitted to hospitals on Tuesday, the Ministry of Public Health reported on Wednesday.
This compared with 15 coronavirus-related fatalities and 774 patients on Monday, as reported on Tuesday.
As of midnight Tuesday, a total of 8,371 people were receiving Covid-19 treatment (up from 8,189 the previous day), including 5,721 in hospitals (down from 5,784). Of the remainder, 60 were in field hospitals/hospitel facilities (down from 63) and 2,585 in home/community isolation (up from 2,337).
Of those in hospitals, 598 were seriously ill with lung inflammation (down from 618) and 292 dependent on ventilators (down from 313).
As of Wednesday, the daily averages over a 14-day period were -- 924 new patients, down from 1,635 as of Sept 8 figures; 598 seriously ill patients, down from 695; 292 dependent on ventilators, down from 356; and 15 coronavirus-related deaths, down from 25.
The 24-hour period also saw 934 patients discharged from hospitals after recovering.
All 1,129 new patients over the past 24 hours were local cases.
The 13 people who died were aged from 48 to 100 years.
Bangkok reported one more death, with none in adjacent provinces.
Other central plains provinces further from the capital reported two - in Lop Buri and Sing Buri.
The North logged four new fatalities - in Chiang Mai (3) and Lamphun (1).
The Northeast had four fatalities - in Nakhon Phanom (2), Khon Kaen (1) and Udon Thani (1).
The South reported two new coronavirus-related deaths - in Krabi and Trang.
Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 4,675,532 Covid-19 cases, including 2,452,097 this year, with 4,634,493 complete recoveries to date.
The accumulated death toll stood at 32,668 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 10,970 so far this year.
Global Covid-19 cases rose by 432,953 in 24 hours to 618.05 million. The worldwide death toll went up by 1,056 to 6.53 million.
The United States had the most cases at 97.59 million, up 29,364, and the most deaths at 1.08 million, up 238.
