Catholic convert JD Vance says he hopes Pope has learned from him and Trump on immigration

JD Vance has suggested that the Catholic Church's leadership could learn from the Trump administration's approach to immigration.

Pope Leo has been critical of the president's approach to immigration, calling for a "deep reflection" in the US on the treatment of migrants.

“What I would hope that the Catholic leadership has learned from some of the things that me, and Marco [Rubio] and the president have said about immigration is it’s not just about the dignity of the immigrant, it’s also about the dignity of the native-born people who have had their lives upended," the vice president, who converted to Catholicism in 2019, told Fox News on Wednesday (1 July).
